A Milestone Year: Attending Vogue’s Forces of Fashion 2024 After Overcoming Personal Challenges

When I first applied to the Fashion Institute of Technology, my sights were set on Fashion Design for Fall 2024. At the time, it felt like the perfect match. Creativity has always been at the core of who I am, and designing felt instinctive—natural. But after countless late-night reflections, heartfelt conversations with mentors, and a deeper dive into what truly excites me, I uncovered something even more powerful: my passion for the business of fashion.

The strategy. The branding. The storytelling.
These are the tools I crave—the ones I need to grow my own brand and leave a lasting imprint on the industry. This is where my heart truly lies.

Looking back, the signs were always there. Growing up in Bangkok, my family ran a small local business, and I was right in the middle of it. I stocked water bottles, cleaned dishes, helped with the computer system, and soaked in every detail of how things operated. I never imagined those early moments would shape my career, but they did. That hands-on experience taught me the foundation of entrepreneurship. Now, I want to carry that legacy forward—where business meets fashion, where my roots meet my dreams.

When I first applied to FIT, I didn’t get in.

That moment could have been the end. Instead, it became the beginning. I paused, reevaluated, and asked myself a hard but necessary question: If not now, then when? I reapplied—not just with stronger materials, but with a sharper vision and a deeper sense of purpose. I was no longer chasing a dream. I was building one.

And this time, FIT said yes.

I remember reading the acceptance letter and freezing. I hugged my friends in class, speechless. Then came the wave of emotion—the thought of my parents, whose faces immediately appeared in my mind. I wish they were here to witness this moment. I had to reread the email, just to be sure. “Welcome,” it said. And yes, it was real. The door had finally opened.

Getting into FIT isn’t just about a seat in a classroom.
It is about entering a community of visionaries. Of creators and changemakers. It means I get to learn from the best, grow alongside fellow dreamers, and build the future I’ve always seen for myself. I finally feel like I am where I was meant to be.

To anyone facing rejection, or rethinking their path—trust yourself. Your journey doesn’t need to look perfect. It just needs to be real. Be brave. Be unapologetically you. Time is flying, the world is spinning, and your moment is waiting.

So go for it. Do what you need to do. The right door will open.
